Better Coils = Better Clouds
When most people start vaping, their main goal is usually to get a nicotine kick. But this changes with time. Vapers begin to want more from their experience. It reaches a point where the throat hit becomes as important as the nature of cloud chasing. It is then, that one should upgrade to devices where they can control their own vaping experience. MODs that allow you to build your own coils are usually the best way to go. Building your own coils becomes a necessity when you want to get more flavor and clouds from your e-juice. With that said, if you’re new to the art of rebuilding coils or want to get a bit better at it, here are some few tips to ensure that you’re doing it right.
Tips for Building Coils to Improve Vapor Output
- Surface Area and Resistance
When building your own coils, it’s important to understand that the density of your vapor will increase as additional e-liquid gets in contact with your coils. Therefore, when building coils, go for the larger diameter. This will mean that the coil surface area is larger. And, more e-juice will get in contact with the coils. Another thing to note is that building clouds that are thicker depends on the resistance level of your coils. A wire with a larger surface area will normally have lower resistance, which leads to temperatures firing up fast. This in turn results to larger clouds.
- Single vs. Double Coils
These two builds are almost the same. The only difference is that a double coil utilizes two coils. When looking to improve your vapor production, a double coil is ideal. Double coils ensure that more e-juice is in contact, hence, a higher vapor production. When building double coils, just make sure that you use the same type of wire, same diameter, and same number of coils, as this’ll ensure an even performance.
- Type of Wire
The other secret to achieving a large cloud is by checking the type of wire to be used. You need to have a wire that has a large surface area and whose resistance isn't too high. For a large surface area, Clapton or twisted wires are ideal. Staged wires are also ideal in achieving a lower resistance.
Bottom Line
Coil building is usually a fun way of saving money and enhancing your vaping experience. It’s something that you need to be careful when doing, so you can achieve the best results and ensure that your MOD doesn't get damaged. That having being said, everything else important about coil building is the surface area and resistance. Ensure that the resistance of your wire isn't too high by choosing a thinner wire. And always ensure that the surface area of your coils in comparison to that of your wick, is larger. Following this, you’re bound to have a rewarding vaping experience.
