Modders and Cloud Chasing Go Hand In Hand
Perhaps you have heard of vaping and assume that it is just some electronic means of smoking. It's actually a lot more involved than that, if you want to experience the thrill of cloud chasing. What do I mean by that? Many experienced vape users consider themselves to be professional vapers. This is because they enter various contest for producing the most extreme clouds of vapor. That's right. There are competitive vaping contests where the competitors come together to compete for the most extravagant and largest production of vapor clouds.
Most often the feats involve clever modding of the MOD to create amazing shapes of clouds from balls to ring shaped clouds. Essentially, you can modify your vaping device to produce extremely powerful sized blasts of clouds, instead of those wispy trails that most unmodified e-cigs create. Basically, you can take apart your vaping device and rebuilt it for the full intention of making more clouds. Or, you can purchase already modded vape pens that do just that. Essentially the modded vaping device has a stronger and larger battery. This is due to the standard vape battery being slim and designed to fit into a thin housing to resemble an actual cigarette.
These batteries are weak by comparison and do not hold a charge for very long. The average e-cig battery contained a 3.2 volt battery. However, some of the more useful modded vape devices utilize a 3.7 volt battery, sometimes going well over 5 volts to achieve amazing clouds. The batteries are activated by a push button that delivers the power to the atomizer. Modding is so common place now that you can obtain the parts that you need from your average electronics store.
More professional competitors might go for the commercially manufactured mods that are created in a wide range of decorative and specialized designs. People treat modding like they do their cars, the more interesting the device design the more appeal to the onlookers. Still, other pros enjoy the self-modded vape devices to explore the range of their personal creativity.
If you're interested in modding you can explore a few options. You can explore a rebuildable drip atomizer or, rebuildable atomizer and that’s basically your standard wick cotton device to soak up the e-liquid and deliver it to the coils or wires inside the device. Those wires are heated up when the battery is activated, thus vaporizing your product. Most professionals consider using these because you can create larger clouds.
However, you can also go through sub-ohm clearomizers, bypassing the need for either rebuildable version. Or by using a box mod, whether regulated or otherwise is actually the current preference in the cloud chasing community. Whether electronic or mechanical, they're often used with the rebuildable dripping atomizers and they are just as they sound, they are box shaped. This is a dramatically different style from the standard e-cig slim shape and may not be for everyone as it is a personal style.
