Vape Tanks For E-Cigs, Vaporizers, and MODs Are Not The Same
E-Liquid Mixture
An e-juice is the key ingredient to using vapor. This concoction is a blend of specific amounts of VG and PG. Additionally, a large variety of flavors has been created to please the user's taste-buds. Frankly, any type of flavor can be developed, varying from a smooth tobacco to a sour apple flavor. Moreover, the tank is the reservoir that holds the e-liquid. Electronic cigarettes, vapor tanks, and sub-ohm tanks hold these fluids for easy transfer into the micro-sized electronic valve for easy burning. E-juice is available with zero nicotine up to the equal amount of nicotine compared to a full-flavor cigarette.
Broken Down Ingredients (E-Juice)
- Nicotine levels (6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and 25mg)
- Standard e-juice ingredients (vegetable glycerin (VG) : propylene glycol (PG)
: flavor : nicotine)
- Vegetable glycerin (sweeter & flavor enhancer)
Vapor Brand Tanks
- E-Cigs (Tank) - Standard: Restricted to One Airflow Hole: As a common device, the e-cig tank is small and holds only a few milliliters of e-juice. Frankly, the e-cig is the same size as a typical cigarette - disposables. In relation to flavor, the selection of flavors is most limited.
- Vaporizers (Tank) - Standard: Equipped with One or Two Airflow Holes
Wick w/Heating Coil
The wick version of the e-juice tank holds from 2 ml to 8 ml of e-juice. Frankly, this is the best pick, if you are looking for a good supply of vapor in a portable device. This size tank is about two inches in length with the diameter of a typical pen-sized highlighter. The wick version is equipped with the standard wick, a heating element, and the valve for easy flow during regular usage.
The typical flavor is deep and the amount of warmth depends on the ohm rating (e.g., 1.6, 1.8 ohms and 2.0 ohms). This type of design is capable of storing an average of 3 ml to 8 ml per fill. The wick version is a refillable tank. However, ensure to tilt the approximately 15-degrees before injecting e-juice into the reservoir portion of the tank or the inner coil may be damaged as a result. The heating coil is replaceable, but, manufacturers do supply vendors with disposable, wick versions. This is a good tank, but, it can crack if dropped on hard surfaces. If cracked, replace it as soon as possible.
Bottom-Feed Atomizer
The bottom feed tank usually has the better flavor. And although the function is similar to the wick, the refilling technique is different. Usually, this type of tank must be refilled by untwisting the reservoir from the atomizer valve portion and then refilling the tank while holding the cylinder at a slight angle. In relation to the atomizer, this is the most simple to replace (rating 1.8 and 2.0 ohms). This version can crack from refilling it too much (the plastic wears from exposure to the e-juice oil).
MOD (Tank) - Sub-Ohm
Wick
This type of vapor device is arguably the most effective for low nicotine requirements. The flow is large and the tank is never big enough because the amount of e-juice is used up the quickest. However, MOD sub-ohm tanks are fun to own and most vapor enthusiasts do not complain about owning one.
Coil
There is a coil element, and using a
sub-ohm tank can be 'surgical' because the e-juice vaporizes so quickly. On
average, a sub-ohm user acquires the 6 mg version of e-juice. Additionally, the
amount of reservoir storage is slightly larger compared to the e-cig tank,
which is good because this is one of the most flavor-filled devices used in the
vapor community. Unfortunately, this type of VG:PG combination is NOT
compatible with the normal e-cig pen. Also, the atomizers are not
interchangeable (i.e., a sub-ohm atomizer does not operate in the standard
e-cig version tank).
In brief, there are three common types of vaporizers - the e-cigarette, the
standard (refillable) pen design, and sub-ohm (w/MOD). The difference between
those three relates to the amount of e-juice storage, the amounts of vapor
release per pull, and e-juice flavor availability. For the most part, the
higher nicotine levels are available for the e-cig versions, while the most
visual amounts of vapor release come from the tasty sub-ohm version of vaping
(zero nicotine to 6 mg). If any tank cracks, save the e-juice and replace the
tank.
